Pyramid Parr Hall, Palmyra Square S, Warrington WA1 1BL, UK – 01925 442345
Saw Ruby Wax here, she was inspiring. Good facilities 2bars, large ladies toilets. Down side not much leg room each row of seats were compact and no air-conditioning so on a hot night when the doors were closed it was baking. Fantastic architecture, first visit.
Lovely venue. Great size. Great view (even from the back). The bar was slow - if they let people pour their own drinks into the plastic cups, and just had someone on the door checking, I'm sure they could speed things up 10 times or more ;-)
Walton Lea Rd, Higher Walton, Warrington WA4 6SN, UK – 01925 262908
This place was a real surprisr for me. Essentially this could be a very fun packed day with little costs. You pay for the parking which is fair enough and it's not expensive considering, the is a massive playground which has more than enough to keep the kids amused, there is the zoo which again is a great little petting zoo. There are some great walks a nice cafe which is about right price wise but don't expect top notch grub. You can play golf, crazy golf, putting at a cost. Loads of open spaces to play or picnic, It is all very well kept , clean tidy and well worth a visit.
Beautiful gardens that contain a great pitch n putt and modern crazy golf. Wonderful zoo with lots of different animals and staff on hand. Big children's play area with lots of equipment. Gardens are very well maintained and clean while the Hall itself is beautiful. We found there to be ample parking even on a hot summers day and £4 pounds (weekend) all-day isn't too bad. One thing I would like to see change is the train (car) that goes round to be electric, currently petrol/diesel and reeks when it passes by.
